The SSSC is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
Compliance status
The MyLearning application is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to labels in the app not being set. We have scheduled to have this work completed in the next version of the MyLearning app which will begin development in September 2024.
Non-accessible content
There is no non-accessible content on the MyLearning app, however there are some areas of non-compliance which you will find below.
Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
We are doing the following to address the above issues…
- We know that several text labels are not set correctly within the MyLearning application making screenreader voice over unclear. Labels will still direct you to expected pages on the application, but some of the user interface text (like page headers) are read out with incorrect labels. This error has been raised with the developers and is included on our production roadmap. We have this on our roadmap for work to be completed in 2025.
- The “dark mode” theme has contrast issues – specifically on Android – that will also need to be addressed in the next app update. We have this on our roadmap for work to be completed in 2025.
If you find an issue that we have yet to identify, please contact us using one of the routes described in the ‘Reporting accessibility problems with this website’ section of this statement.
Disproportionate burden
At this time, we have not made any disproportionate burden claims.
Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations
At this time, we have not identified any content that is not within scope of the accessibility regulations. The only exception to this is content you attach to your own learning logs. If there is any content you attach to learning logs that is not accessible, you will need to contact the producer of that content to address any issues regarding accessibility as it not content we have produced.
3rd party content
Some of our services include third party content which we have no control over such as external resources you are directed to that are not produced by the SSSC. The accessibility regulations do not require us to manage these kinds of content, but if you have a problem with any of the content hosted on this website, please contact us using the methods above and we will try to help.
