NISCC Domiciliary Care Toolkit: Values and Behaviours
The badge is available to social care workers. The badge aims to help you explore how you can put the person you care for at the centre of your work with them. You will also learn about how you show dignity and respect to those you work with.
The badge is designed to support you while your carry out your day to day practice. To obtain the badge, you need to work through the detail below, discuss your learning with your manager and team and download and complete the badge application form.
To earn this badge you will need to work through the Values and Behaviours section of the NISCC Domiciliary Care Toolkit App with your manager/supervisor and complete the following tasks:
- Read the Values in Practice section and select the top 10 values that are important to you in your work.
- Read the Person Centred Practice section, think about the case studies (George, Margaret and James) and answer the question about whether the case study demonstrates person centred care.
- Read about the two values Respect and Dignity and watch the SCIE dignity in care videos.
- Read the NISCC Standards of Conduct and Practice section and some of the standards that help you to consider the values of dignity, respect and person centred care.
To gain this badge this form needs to be completed by you and your manager.
