Every practitioner has a duty to practice to a Best Practice standard laid out in The Scottish Social Service Codes of Practice. This badge will begin to make links between these standards, policies listed in your Support in Mind Scotland Staff Handbook and your practice.
To earn this badge you will need to:
- Download the Codes of Practice for Social Service workers at http://sssc.uk.com
Read the 6 Codes of Practice, including the explanatory sub sections
- Choose 1 code of practice and link this to relevant policies found in your Support in Mind Scotland Staff Handbook. You may choose to write a brief piece in your SiMS learning log.
- Read the What Should I do Now? scenarios on your staff area of the Support in Mind Scotland website http://www.supportinmindscotland.org.uk
- Discuss with your line manager 1 scenario, identifying what actions you would take and why. You should evidence the Codes of Practice and SiMS policies which support your decision.
To apply for this badge:
Applications that are not signed your supervisor/manager will be declined.
Evidence:
- Tell us how your reading will shape your future practice.
- Your submission should be a minimum of 250 words.
- Your submission should be countersigned by your line manager to verify your discussion
