Principles of care: Protecting people
We all have a responsibility to keep children and vulnerable adults safe and this is fundamental to ensuring good outcomes for people who you care for and support. This badge will help you to provide evidence that you know, understand and the principles of protecting people that are at the core of best practice. You will need to read the Protecting people chapter of the Principles of Care ebook before you can apply for this badge.
To get this badge you must:
- complete the activities in the Protecting people chapter of the ebook and tell us what you wrote in the notes you made as your evidence for your badge
- think about how you protect people in your role
- using the information in this chapter, write a short reflective account of a minimum of 150 words to explain what you must do if you suspect someone may be being harmed or abused (You may wish to refer to your organisation’s policies and procedures in your answer)
- write a short reflective account of a minimum of 100 words to explain how you will use the knowledge you gained from this chapter in your practice in future.
We will return applications that do not provide enough evidence showing how you have met these criteria.
