Physiotherapy in Care Settings – Mobility
This Open Badge is intended for people interested in looking after themselves and/or those working in a variety of care settings, focusing on the ability to enable, maintain and improve safe mobility.
When assessing and monitoring baseline functional ability, dynamic movements such as walking is one of the best activities to help improve confidence, maintain muscle mass, range of movement and help prevent falls.
Physical inactivity is one of the leading causes of premature death in Scotland. Unfortunately, our population is around 30% less active now than in the 1960s. Evidence shows that even small increases in activity can help to prevent and treat chronic diseases and improve quality of life, especially related to mobility and falls.
We all need to build the importance of physical activity and function in the minds of ourselves and those we care for, at every chance we have and completion of this Open Badge will help you to achieve this.
