Introduction to weaning
This badge is awarded to those who have completed the Introduction to weaning module. The aim of this course is to identify the signs of when a baby is ready to wean and suggest suitable and unsuitable foods and drinks when weaning.
To earn the open badge for this course, you will need to:
- Step 1: Complete the e-learning module on NHS Education for Scotland Turas Learn (requires registration to log in) to receive a certificate.
- Step 2: Complete the reflective writing to receive an Open Badge micro-credential (requires registration to log in and certificate to upload). To do this, think back to what you learnt in the e-learning module:
- Tell us two developmental signs a baby is ready to wean and two nutritional reasons for weaning a baby (50 words minimum).
- Tell us three suitable foods to introduce when weaning and three foods that are not suitable when weaning a baby. (50 words minimum).
- Tell us how you will use what you learned in your day-to-day work or personal life (150 words minimum).
- Tell us what you did to share what you learned with others (25 words minimum).
