To achieve this badge, you must:
1) Study the Film in Care guide – Read the Film in Care resource to grasp the benefits and 10 core principles of using film in care settings.
2) Plan and prepare – Reflect on how to implement the principles within your setting, focusing on:
- involving people experiencing care in choosing films,
- identifying the best room or area for screenings,
- determining the most suitable time of day for events.
3) Present two film screenings – Using the Film in Care principles, conduct two screenings for people living in the care home. Please pay close attention to their preferences and comfort to create an inclusive and engaging experience.
4) Reflective account – Write a 450 word minimum to 550 word maximum reflection on your screenings, addressing:
- how you planned and prepared,
- responses from people who attended the screenings and any observed changes in well-being,
- improvements noted from the first to the second screening,
- challenges and rewarding aspects of your experience.
Your application will be returned with a request for further evidence if it does not meet all the above criteria.
