AC/AHSCP Justice
This badge will support learners to understand the relationships between justice services and other services. It will help learners consider the impact of their work alongside challenges in wider service delivery.
This badge is one part of the Collaborative Working milestone badge and will help a NQSW evidence their progression towards the following standards:
Standard 1 – Developing confidence and competence in the process of assessment using critical thinking skills and analysis to inform professional judgement and decision making.
Standard 2 – Collaborate effectively with service users and others to plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
Standard 3 – Positively promoting the wellbeing, support and protection of children and adults at risk of harm.
Standard 4 -Developing competence and confidence in the professional Social Work role and in managing complexity in professional decision making, drawing on research, evidence and best practice.
Standard 5 – Demonstrating the habits of a practitioner-researcher through routine continuous learning and enquiry with which to encourage and support the learning of self and others.
The criteria set below is an indicative list of sources of knowledge that can be utilised in order to achieve this badge, you may wish to use other sources.
- Attend the dedicated session on Justice Services in protected time

- Have individual discussion with a representative of Justice Services (include the complexities of delivering a service when others in the family or network are in receipt of other services)
- Read: Framework for Risk Assessment, Management and Evaluation (FRAME)
- Explore resources available online: e.g., Violence Reduction Unit, Scottish Centre for Crime and Justice Research, Risk Management Authority, Forensic Network, Scottish Prison Service, Centre for Youth and Criminal Justice, Community Justice Scotland

To successfully complete the badge learners must evidence their understanding of the key issues and demonstrate their application in practice by completing the activities listed below:
- Upload a reflection on contemporary issues in the justice field including how these link to your area of work (max 500 words if written)
- Upload a map of Justice Services in Angus and the agencies they link with
- Evidence your understanding of complexities of delivering justice services when others in the family or network are also receiving the following services:
Child protection
Adult protection
Mental health
Drug and alcohol
Domestic abuse
Learning disability
- Describe what actions would support better inter-professional collaboration to reduce risk
