SCMA Childminders: Developing Children’s self-esteem
This Open Badge is awarded to Childminders who can demonstrate an awareness of the importance of self-esteem in the early years and throughout life and canshow how they will support, encourage and nurture self-esteem in children and young people.
This Open Badge is awarded to Childminders who can demonstrate an awareness of the importance of self-esteem in the early years and throughout life and can show how they will support, encourage and nurture self-esteem in children and young people.
This Open Badge will support Childminders to demonstrate their understanding and practice in relationship to the following:
defining and exploring self-esteem.
discovering how a positive self-image affects a child.
looking at the influence of adults on a child’s self-esteem.
understanding the importance of role models.
use of role play to support self-esteem.
promote the importance of positive reinforcement.
To earn this badge you will need to:
- have completed the SCMA Developing Children’s Self-esteem CPL workshop or completed the SCMA Developing Children’s Self-esteem eLearning programme
- Tell us the following:
- What is your understanding of how a positive self-image affects a child and the influence of adults on a child’s self-esteem?
- Explain the effects of having good role models and the possible impact of having negative role models
- Tell us how you will use what you have learnt on the course to improve and develop your practice in this area
