SCMA Childminders: Community Childminding
This badge supports childminders to reflect on their practice and demonstrate their understanding of the following:
- the role of the community childminder
- how to take a child-centred approach, (using the Health & Social Care Standards and GIRFEC) to provide appropriate support, enabling the wellbeing of children and parents
- what children need, and how you can offer early intervention that is effective in preventing further escalation of problem
- support provided to respond in a timely, proportionate and appropriately targeted manner to support vulnerable just coping families
To earn this badge you will need to have completed the SCMA Community Childminding 4 session workshop.
And tell us the following:
- Your understanding on what the purpose of the Community Childminding service is
- Your understanding on what roles, responsibilities, qualities, skills and attributes childminders are required to have to become a Community Childminder?
- Explain how you will identify, plan, support and meet all children’ needs within your Community Childminding service
- Explain your approach to working with vulnerable families and what you learnt from completing this course and how it will improve your practice
