Child protection policy stresses the need for services to identify risk and work in a coordinated way to promote the safety and wellbeing of children.
It is the responsibility of all staff to recognise concerns and be familiar with reporting protocols.
The Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014 focuses on the wellbeing of children and young people.
To earn this badge you will need to:
- Have a beginning knowledge of GIRFEC (Getting it Right for Every Child), an approach which focuses on ensuring positive child development. - In your workplace:
Source your Local Authority Child Protection protocol and read the reporting procedures listed in the document
- Read the following case studies or telephone scenarios found on the staff area of the Support in Mind Scotland website and assess whether there is cause for concern. Discuss your findings with your line manager
