8. OSS Reflection
This badge is awarded to people who demonstrate their understanding of online safety and security by completing the first seven badges from our Online Safety and Security series.
You can earn this badge by demonstrating your understanding of online safety and security by completing the first seven badges from our Online Safety and Security series and reflecting on what you have learned.
This is the last of eight badges that contribute towards the Online safety and security badge.
You can gain additional Open Badges by working through either the Professional Boundaries (Adult Care) or Professional Boundaries (Child Care) scenarios on the SSSC Learning Zone Making Better Decisions resource.
To be awarded this badge, you must:
- successfully achieve badges one to seven from this series
- describe what some of the online risks are to you, your organisation and the people who use your services (150 words minimum)
- tell us about at least three steps you will take to help maintain your own online safety and security and that of your organisation (200 words minimum)
- tell us what you felt was most significant from the first seven badges and why (100 words minimum)
- discuss what you have written in response to the questions above with your manager, tutor or team and write something about this discussion (50 words minimum).
Your application will be returned to you with a request for further evidence if it does not meet all the above criteria.
You must hold badges one to seven from the Online Safety and Security series.
You will need to submit a written statement, of at least 500 words in response to the questions asked in the criteria. You can write your statement directly on the badge application form or paste a link to your own blog or portfolio.
We will also accept an audio or video submission if you prefer.
The evidence you submit will be viewable by anyone who you show your badge to. Do not include confidential or private information within your submission.
