4. OSS Digital security
This badge is awarded to people who demonstrate their understanding of the importance of digital security practice and procedures and how to influence such positive behaviour within their organisation.
All of us need to have a basic understanding of how to create strong passwords, keep our devices and software up-to-date and set secure permissions for the apps and websites we use.
You can earn this badge by demonstrating your understanding of the importance of digital security practice and procedures and how to influence such positive behaviour within your organisation.
This is one of eight badges that contribute towards the Online safety and security badge.
To be awarded this badge, you must:
- download and complete the Digital security handout
- discuss your completed worksheet with your manager, team or tutor and tell us something about this discussion (25 words minimum)
- tell us about three things you learned from these activities and why this is important to you and your practice (150 words minimum)
- tell us what you will do to share what you have learned with your colleagues (25 words minimum).
Your application will be returned to you with a request for further evidence if it does not meet all the above criteria.
You must hold the Getting started with Open Badges and Writing evidence for Open Badge applications badges before applying for this one.
You will need to submit a written statement, of at least 200 words in response to the questions asked in the criteria. You can write your statement directly on the badge application form or paste a link to your own blog or portfolio.
We will also accept an audio or video submission if you prefer.
The evidence you submit will be viewable by anyone who you show your badge to. Do not include confidential or private information within your submission.
Read Preparing and publishing your evidence to find out more about what’s required and increase your chances of getting your badge approved first time.
