3. Peer assessor
This Open Badge is given to people who are enrolled as peer assessors on SSSC Open Badges and who successfully completed our peer assessment tutorial.
Peer assessors are essential to future of SSSC Open Badges and play an important role in making sure people provide the best evidence they can for each of their badges.
As a peer assessor you’ll earn points for every application you assess and can spend these applying for badges only available to people enrolled in peer assessment. You’ll only be asked to assess applications for badges you have already achieved yourself and we will provide you with an easy-to-follow framework, the SSSC Open Badges rubric, to help you assess.
You’ll also get to see alternative ways people respond to the questions asked by the badge criteria. They may have ideas or observations you might not have explored and could learn from in your own badge applications. Not to mention, just understanding how to assess badges itself, will make you far better at preparing your own badge evidence in future.
Everything you need to become a successful SSSC Open Badges peer assessor is included within our interactive tutorial. Completing the tutorial is a mandatory requirement for this badge.
This badge is no longer available.
To earn this badge you will need to:
- work through the Peer assessment tutorial (3-4 hours)
- pass the assessment exercise at the end of the tutorial
- attach a copy of your results as evidence for this badge.
We will decline applications that do not provide enough evidence showing how you have met these criteria.
You need to achieve both the Getting started with Open Badges and Writing evidence for Open Badge applications badges before applying for this one. You must not have had any of your badges revoked within the last two years.
You will need to complete the Peer assessment tutorial and attach your results from the final assessment exercise to the application form below.
The final assessment exercise from the tutorial needs to be completed on a laptop or desktop computer.
