AC/AHSCP Partnership Working 2019
This badge will support learners to understand, articulate and promote their professional contribution in the context of partnership working with service users, families, carers and the third sector. Learners will review and develop their understanding of the legislation that underpins partnership working and its impact on the social work role.
This badge aims to support learners to understand the legislative context and ethos of partnership working with service users, families, carers and others external to the organisation. The badge also encourages exploration of local resources which can support service users to achieve their outcomes.
This badge is one part of the Collaborative Working Milestone badge and will help a NQSW evidence their progression towards the following standards:
Standard 1 – Developing confidence and competence in the process of assessment using critical thinking skills and analysis to inform professional judgement and decision making.
Standard 2 – Collaborate effectively with service users and others to plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
Standard 3 – Positively promoting the wellbeing, support and protection of children and adults at risk of harm.
Standard 4 -Developing competence and confidence in the professional Social Work role and in managing complexity in professional decision making, drawing on research, evidence and best practice.
Standard 6 – Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the wellbeing of self and others.
Evidence in this badge will link with the Direct Work milestone badge and the Legislation Policy and Guidance Badge
To achieve this badge you will need to:
- Attend a workshop exploring the legislative context of partnership working Public Bodies (Joint-Working) (Scotland) Act 2014 and Carers (Scotland) Act 2016.
- Complete the GIRFEC – Reflective Learning Resource (in Always Learning)
- Complete Self-Directed Support and Personalisation resource (in Always Learning)
- Explore local resources via the Angus Locality Locator http://www.voluntaryactionangus.org.uk/localitylocator/

To successfully complete the badge learners must evidence their understanding of the key issues and demonstrate their application in practice, by completing the activities listed below.
- Evidence 3 key points you took from the workshop and resources you accessed on partnership working. Consider the challenges and opportunities of effective partnership working in a discussion with a relevant person.
- Reflect on an occasion in which you have been proactive in improving your understanding of a local resource relevant to your social work role. Reflect on how you improved your understanding and how this contributed to the meeting of outcomes for a service user.
We will accept evidence in audio, written or pictorial formats. Case examples can be in the format of anonymised records or reports.
